What is Christian Worship?
For many, worship is associated with that time spent in church singing hymns and choruses. But in reality worship it is so much more than that!
Everybody worships something! Whether it's money, relationships, power, friends, possessions, or the One, Living, Almighty God. There will always be something in your life which you have decided in your heart is worth the most to you.
It is easy to say we value something more than any other, but is what we say reflected in our actions?
You see, worship is more about what we do than what we say or sing because worship is something we do all the time! It's is a way of life; It depends upon how we choose to use the gifts, talents and abilities we have; how we interact with others. It has nothing to do with how we feel. Whether we're on top of the world or at the end of our tether, worshipping God changes situations! (Read Psalm 30 verses 11 and 12)
Worship is what we were created to do! The Bible says: "All things were made through Christ and for Christ." (Colossians 1 v 16b) furthermore we are all made in God's image.
As Christians, through worship, we focus on God and connect with His purposes, it is one of the things that we're all seeking to achieve in our daily walk with Jesus Christ. |
